SMC Pentax 67 AERO 1:4 200mm

There is an eBay auction (well, BIN for $6,880) for a lens I have never seen before and may never see again. According to the seller it was custom made for the Japanese Defence forces and is a high definition fixed focus lens meant for aerophotography. Going by the pictures the story seems plausible; it has an entirely new barrel with no focusing mechanism rather than just the usual one with a set screw to lock it off and the engraving around the barrel looks to be correct too. Although the dealer freely admits that he can't verify the information, he sells a lot of used Pentax gear and seems fairly knowledgeable when it comes to the 6x7 range.

Somebody posted this a couple of months ago and it was mentioned it was for military use.

Yeah, I remember that thread. Hasn't been sold in all these months. I guess the price is too high and the demand too low for such a specialized lens.
