Filter holder for S-M-C Takumar 6x7 400mm, Item #42901138?

I am looking for a rear lens filter holder for Pentax Super Multi Coated Takumar 6x7 1:4/400. Do you have any suggestions as to where I may search/look? Thank you in advance.

I also have the 6x7 Takumar 400/4.

It uses 77mm screw in filters, or Pentax 6x7 77mm bayonet filters. Filters are attached to a removable adapter ring, which screws into the rear of the lens.

I'm assuming that you have double checked that the adapter is present? With no filter attached it's hard to spot, give the rear of the inside of the lens a light twist and see if anything turns.

When I got my 400/4 I though the adapter was missing, but it was actually in place.

If you are missing the adapter, the odds of finding one for sale are slim.

Phil.

These filter holders are so rare that finding one is not possible. Rear filters are problematic for this lens, as they introduce flare when using most filters. Polarizers are especially bad in this regard. Even using a multicoated polarizer does not fully solve the problem. After struggling with this for many years I finally opted for a front filter. Since the front is 108mm, there are no common filters that fit it. I use a 105mm filter that is mounted in a polycarbonate ring. The ring fits on the lens hood. No vignetting occurs.
