I was wondering if any of you have had luck using HSS on a Pentax 645z and the older AD360 from Godox. I am using a Cactus V6II and Godox FT-16 transmitter and HSS works fine when I trigger a Godox AR400. When I try to trigger the AD360, the flash fires over the usual 1/125 but nearly a 1/2 of the screen is shadowed by what assume is the shutter (or maybe the mirror?). I assume it's doable (check out:
HSS Pentax 645Z Godox 600 – Mark Kitaoka Photographs and scroll down a bit), but I've tried every possible configuration and always get black band on the shot. Does anyone have experience with this combo? Any tips would help.
Thanks in advance!
I’ve used the 645D and the Godox AD360ii. But I’ve heard it works on the AD360 as well.
On the old AD360 you need to manually turn on HSS, are you doing that? And maybe you need to use a Cells-II trigger, I remeber I needed that when I had the original AD360, the FT16 can’t do HSS.
I can’t test it, since my old AD360 was stolen along with the Cells II Canon trigger, I only used a Canon camera back then since I didn’t had the 645D. But the only way to get HSS was with the Cells-II trigger, I remember that much.
Get the Cells-II for canon, or better yet, get another Cactus V6ii, and forget about stacking.
PS: this was with the original FT-16, don’t know if they release another one. But with the original you couldn’t do HSS, in either Nikon or Canon, you needed the Cells-II. It was well known back then.
