When I was a teenager, there was a guy in town who took to having his cars professionally painted metallic flake,
candy apple....., rainbow. He did it first to a brand new Ford Taurus and then a Mercedes 450SL. I quickly learned
to respect the guy's individuality as garish as it might be.

Nonetheless, that red 6x7 makes me ask "why"? As a personal expression, I'm quite OK. As an effort to pimp
it up for an inflated sale, I can only ask, "why"?

If the dials and logos AOCO or Asashi Pentax where on silver/nickle/chrome... it could look better.

I mean, its not bad, not great, but i respect the time and care he/she put to paint the camera

Too rich for me, anyway.

Oh, God!

That was my first impression. Quite the cringe. I had no idea what was waiting behind that link.

After the initial shock, I could totally see myself shooting with it in the right environment: Fashion editorial where I'm also being filmed and photographed.

The unpainted logos also bother me. I think white would be okay. Also, color codes on distance and depth of field scales should be present.

Note: Pentax has released a lot of colorful versions of their cameras, too, so it shouldn't come as a surprise, but strangely it still has. Must be the messing around with an icon. Specially for it's classic status.

It's a well-below-freezing-and-howling-wind stealth version for street photography. When you hold it up and point it at someone to get a candid photo, they'll just think it's your face.

To my western eyes, that camera is perfectly hideous but it's important to remember that in many Asian cultures, red is a color associated with good fortune, which may be what the seller is trying to reap by asking such an exorbitant price for it.

Or a fire truck and they'll keep the road clear.
