645D using Jpg

I know I shoot to get as close to correct exposure so my question is : Just wondering how the jpg would be from the 645D with minimal adjustments assuming correct exposure. Thanks

If the scene has low dynamic range (i.e., no important details that are really shadowed or really excessively bright), then SOOC JPG taken with a "correct exposure" should be good. The JPG file won't be quite as sharp as the RAW file but the difference is only visible when pixel peeping.

JPG is only 8-bits which limits the recorded dynamic range. That can be fine for well-lit studio shots of non-shiny subjects but RAW does better for capturing bright highlights and deep shadows.

Also, the more post-processing you want/need to do, the more reason to use RAW.

You can shoot raw and develop later direct from the camera or shoot raw on one card and jpg on the other. You don't need to decide when you capture the image.

I spent 10k on the 645D and I shoot mostly jpeg. i'm not a " get all you can out of each image " person. there are times when I go with raw and use Picasa as my primary editor.

I hear what you are saying and I do the same as well. I try to nail them in camera whenever I can and I still shoot Raw and jpg in case I need to use the Raw files. Thanks

I shoot raw and develop in camera to jpg if using my slow laptop (which doesn't have the grunt to do it). You can develop to tiff too if you want (and don't mind huge files).
