Best 3rd Party lenses for the 645z

Hey everyone,

I have had my 645z since december of last year and it's been great. The only thing I've been disappointed with is the fact that the lens selection is extremely limited. I need a good wide, and a fast prime, and the only medium format lenses that suit that purpose are the fuji g mount recent releases like the Mitakon Speedmaster 85mm f/1.2 and the Venus Laowa 17mm F4. They're both around $1k which is way cheaper than the 25mm pentax. They can cover the 44x33mm sensor in the GFX cameras by fuji so I was wondering if there was any way to adapt these types of lenses to the 645z. I have been feeling limited by having a slow zoom like the 45-85 and the old 35mm A prime that isn't super wide.

Thanks.

GFX is a mirrorless system with a short focal flange. If an adapter was possible it would be optically corrected and act as a teleconverter.

Well one option is to get a Pentax 6x7 to 645 adapter and run 6x7 lenses.

Did anyone ever make Mamiya adapters to the Pentax 645?

Pentax Medium Format Resources: Pentax 645: Third party lenses via adapter - PentaxForums.com

There were 30mm fisheyes for Hasselblad and Pentacon 6. Good luck finding anything wider...

There was an adapter for Mamiya RB / RZ lenses. It was about 1100 euros...

Well, the fast primes for Pentax are the 45, 55, 75, 90 and 150, all at f2.8---which is pretty fast for medium format. Hard to say if these new ones from Mitakon are that good at this point...we'll know more after more evaluations come in.

On the wide end, the 25 and 28-45 are the only games in this town. I have the 25 and think it's great, and got it for a very good price used from the Lens Rentals sales arm. Everyone raves about the 28-45. Is this new Venus any good? Don't know that yet either. 17 is going to be mighty wide on the Z or the Fuji.....moving into gimmick range imo. I have the 25-30 for my K1, and I find I don't use the 15 end much, unless I am in very tight spots (which I do have to manage on occasion). On the crop sensor medium format cameras that 17 will be wider than that.

Have seen some good results with Hasselblad lenses.
