Pentax AF-500FTZ with 645N and 67II

Hi there,

Im using the AF-500FTZ (not that often) with a Pentax 645N and a 67II. Is it necessary to switch the shutter speed dial from 'A' to'X' (I use the flash in TTL, not manual)? Or will the flash work just fine i A?

Cheers
Peter

TTL in Pentax

your hot shoe has ttl and pentax camera set the flash shutter speed with the flash in the shoe and turned on. You should get visual confirmation in the view finder. So you can leave the setting on A.

Enjoy that camera as it is another great pentax.

I use a AF-500FTZ on the 645N. It works very well in TTL mode. You can set the shutter speed, or not. If/when the camera senses a ready-to-fire flash, it goes to 1/60 anyway. If it doesn't, there is a problem with Camera/Flash communications. A few notes. This flash was made for 35mm cameras; note that auto-zoom of the flash head will always be 'wrong' on the 645N. The chosen flash auto-focal length is right for the 645N. If you need to use FEC, the method is not apparent. EC affects only the flash when doing flash photography. Happy shooting.
