My pentax 6x7 b&w roll

pix from my Pentax 6x7 slr.


My B & W roll came back underexposed for the shadows. I was able to use some image editing software to get a usable upload.

That looks like it is just underexposed. With a light sky like that you should point the camera down and meter the shadow area only. Does the meter work well for other pictures?

It also looks overexposed in the skiy (pure white). Can you put the negative on light table or window and take a picture of it?

It is badly exposed and with terrible contrast. If anyone could give an explanation for this it would be very useful.

There is a long list of reasons. For example, an underexposed image for shadow detail should capture a lot of highlights nicely. And post processing to make it look better only make it harder to evaluate. You need to see the negative to even begin to troubleshoot the problem. If the highlights are also bad, then I'd suspect a developing problem.
