Hi guys, I own a 645Z for a few years now and have been using a USB 3 cable + Lightroom for tethering when shooting in my home studio. However, when I need to shoot in a different location or a bigger studio it is really complicated to be able to use the cable all the time.

I know this has been asked a few times over the last years, but does anybody know what truly is the best wireless tethering option for my 645Z in 2021? I REALLY need to find an option for this for my next on location projects. Can anybody help me with some suggestions? Thank you!

I wanted to give you links to some WiFi to usb devices. However the only ones I found are no longer made. I don’t recall if the flu card can be used with the 645. It isn’t a complete tethering solution but it might help.

The Pentax FluCard 16GB does work with the 645Z. But is limited to being just a remote control for the camera which will save raw and JPEG to SD your SD card. It sets up a local WiFi hotspot with access to your captures via a web browser


I do not believe there is any easy way to send images to Lightroom direct without a cable. You can with a bit of a hack copy the URL from the Flucard and download raw or JPEG direct - at least I think you can as I have never tried!
