Pentax 67 Shutter Freeze

I have a pentax 67 model. Recently after not using the camera since last summer I put in a roll. After pressing the shutter the mirror didn't return and the camera is "froze up". I put in a fresh battery, that didn't help.

What is the fix for this situation?

Thanks

Sounds like the original battery didn't have enough power. The solution is to replace the battery with a fresh one and then reset the camera. See page 4 of the manual, available here:

I wasn't aware of the reset button. I pressed it, heard a click, but the mirror didn't return. I think I will send the camera in for repair and cleaning.

You need to shoot a blank exposure also by pressing the shutter release.

I tried that, the shutter release will not budge.

Is the mirror locked partway down or all the way up? Is the shutter open or closed?

If it's the former, taking out the battery and gently tapping the camera should make the mirror fall. If the mirror came partway down that sounds like what happens when the battery is dead. If the mirror is still stuck up, then you may have a problem that needs a camera tech to diagnose.
