A few things I cant seem to get to save in camera:
1- I turn the power on and I set the date and time:
I shut the camera off and it does NOT sane the date and time. I have done this several times
2- When I turn the camera on I want to see an image in the rear LCD:
I only the display and cant see the area I want to shoot. I checked the menus and cant seem to locate whatever it is to get rid of the Display screen so I can see what I am shooting through the REAR screen
Thats it so far. I appreciate whatever help I can get so I can get my Z setup. Thank you Dennis

I have a cold right now with limited ability to remember much, but there are two sources that you need: (a) The most excellent 645z review done by the owner of this website, and available somewhere on this website, and (b) the exhaustive two booklets that should have come with your camera -- the Operating Manual and the Menu Reference. Perhaps they can be obtained from B&H or Pentax.

I did figure out the Screen display.
Now for the Date and time. That should be simple enough. Ty for your suggestions

Charge the DLI90 fully; it helps to have a spare. Leave it in the camera for a couple days at least; there is an internal storage device (super capacitor or other battery, I can't remember) that has to charge up, and it gets its juice from the removable battery. Probably the camera sat for months without a charged battery.

If date is not saved the internal battery could be dead or not able to charge.
Shooting with rear screen is possible in Live view mode.

Asking for the date and time is super annoying. You can try to reset the internal clock by switching the camera on and removing the battery. Let it sit for 12 to 24 hrs while switched on without a battery. Switch off and insert a fully charged battery and switch on, enter the date and time and you should be good to go.

I started to experience this issue after using a genetic brand battery. After a reset and I use only Pentax branded batteries I don't have the problem.
