Hello everyone. I have been speaking with William at Wemacro. I am going to buy his rail and vertical stand. What we are trying to work out is how to attach his tube that uses a M42 adapter ring to the 645z (for microscope objective). There do not seem to be any factory-built adapters on the market, at least that I can stumble on. My question is in two parts. Do any of you know of such and adapter, or someone who can machine one? Alternatively, I cannibalize a SMC A 645 200mm F4 or a SMC A 645 300mm F4 for the mounting plates and have a local machine shop attach a M42 plate?
Or would it make sense to buy a non-working 35mm or 70mm and remove all the glass so William's tube could be mounted to the filter threads?
Or is it possible to mod a 645 extension tube to M42?
Sorry if my nomenclature is wrong or I'm asking a stupid question.
I just want to shoot very small minerals.
