67 Project Work!

Hi all, I've just started at University here in the UK, im studying a BA Hons Photography degree.
Here are some images I have submitted for the theme of 'Identity'.
Image was taken on a Pentax 67, 70mm 4.5, with Ilford FP4 Plus 125.

Why are they so dark? BW film is plenty capable of capturing way more light range than displayed here. It almost looks like a case of someone editing their photos on a Mac with its default gamma of 1.8 and when viewed in the correct color space of gamma 2.2 the results are too dark.

They do seem dark, but maybe that is what you were going for. I like the idea though.

How did you have your images scanned?

I like my images that way.. I tend to shoot just under hence the 'dark' prints.
I scanned them in using an Imacon 848.

usually I like high contrast pics, but these pics seem to lack shadow detail.
Perhaps they'd look better on black background.

Cool photos man. I don't have a problem with contrast/darkness. People on forums are crazy town (no offense guys). I enjoy
