Do you "hunt" for fall foliage around Ohio, Ivan ? Here we're having a terrible season with rain, wind and clouds all the time, almost no sunshine. It won't be a very good season up North. I hope it's better for you around the Great Lakes.

Regards

Thank you. l am starting to vary my images by getting in more than one blossom, using complementary colors, textures, and the like.

Often we take foliage drives, but the color season seems just to have started this week, so no outings yet this year. I hope we can get out and around before the rains come and ruin everything!

Was too lazy to go on a 10k hike with the camera gear today, stalked the critters in our small backyard instead. This butterfly the size of a Cessna came by a couple of times. Not sure if it is a butterfly or a moth, but ok, it still seemed interesting. It didn't stay still for long and would flutter from one flower to the next, etc. I used the 645z with 300mm FA* to get a reasonable size picture from a distance, still had to crop a lot. Unfortunately the jpg upload lost a lot of detail.

Hi,

Moths. Hmmm. I hadn't thought of shooting one of those before. We grow gourds here and half of them have white flowers and are pollinated at night by moths. Big ones the size of a dinner roll plate. They hang out during the day, so there they sit not moving with their wings deployed looking like a white flower themselves. They'd make an easy target. Too bad we are at the end of the growing season and they aren't around at this point.....

Well, it's a bit of a cliched subject, and unfortunately, the smoke from the fires in CA made the mountain view not as clear as it could be. But I'm reasonably happy with how this turned out (thank you Dehaze function in LR). 645Z and 28-45.

Thank you for your kind comments. I feel honored to receive positive comments from a photographer of your stature and abilities as I greatly admire your body of work along with that of the other great medium format landscapists who post their work here.
