Thanks guys. Yes, it genuinely was a very rough time for them - it just didn't look it, with the big swell bypassing my foreground. So it somehow reflects the mood of the morning better with this wilder foreground, even if it was taken in July!

Reminds me of some rides like that, and worse, sailing via ferry between several different Philippine islands.

If you could dummy up this rock with some tiny faux trees and mountain goats maybe it could pass as a landscape. :>) Otherwise, great rock shot with excellent detail.

Full-size rock.

TA - DAM ! How do you like the result, Ivan ? Seriously, Half-Dome in Yosemite Nat'l Park taken with a Pentax K1 + FA* 28-70 mm f/2.8.

P.S. I prefer "real rocks" to "faux rocks" ... lol !

Nice. Richard, I grew in a farm family, farming rich black land soil. My dad, looking at scenery such as this, always said it was not fit for anything but to hold the world together. I would love to be able to take a trip out to the mountains in order to capture of these fantastic scenes.

This is what happens when they let soil erosion run wildly : Grand Canyon or something similar. Many of us Pentax shooters were born on farms, strange. Maybe because we appreciate good "machinery" ...

Nice nice tones. The contrast between positive and negative images is so good with the trees. Also the foreground is seriously cool with the speckled colors.
Thanks.

I just received my new "used" 67 M 90-180 mm f/5.6 zoom from Japan (265 US$). As is the case most of the time, it looks beautiful, all shiny with impeccable crystal-clear glass. The mount looks like it was never mated to a camera body (no brassing or circular friction traces). Everything works smoothly (these lenses are built like tanks, anyway). Another project to test it. A man's work is never done (sigh!).

Regards

P.S. This thing is HEAVY !

I have that one also, but really have not yet used it enough to comment. Mine sounds like the one you received--mint like with no indication of wear. It is supposed to be a great lens, though reputedly a little below the P67/55-100. Looking forward to seeing some of your work with this lens, and maybe I will try to follow along with some use myself.
