finally getting some "decent color" and exposure with the well expired fujichrome 50D E-6 120 film....seems i need to treat it at 12 almost to 8 and burn the light on it pretty hard.....so it's super slow.....run through Yashica C TLR believe I was basically around f5.6 and between 1/50 & 1/25...
around huntsville, alabama.....developed at the only local shop Southerland's Photo......scanned myself on epson v600.....have learned the magenta bar is from dust on the scanner bed......such a noob!

Summer is noted in Sydney as the season of storms. This week has had a couple of corkers!

A bit of fun here. Apologies to anyone of a sensitive disposition!

When I went to shoot the storm, I dashed urgently out of the house. As a result, I didn't take enough clothing with me to protect the camera or, really, myself. Shorts and a tee shirt. When the rain proved heavy, I decided the camera needed the tee shirt more than I did. Note camera in background...

Great shot, great environmental content. Love that P67 200mm, very sharp. Some of the crops I take from the P67 200mm images are sharper than from my P645 300mm and 400mm lenses.

Thank you very much. Among all the lenses 6x7 I own, the 200mm is my fav amongst all. Its tact sharp and also not very much heavy to handheld.

Hah! No, my backyard isn't so large! Sydney has a network of public ocean pools along its beaches. There are a large number of them. This one is at Dee Why beach - about 5 minutes' drive from where I live. So, yes, I stripped to the waist in the dark, in the middle of a powerful storm, at a public pool. But the weather was actually surprisingly warm - it wasn't too uncomfortable until I had been wet for a couple of hours!

A few images with the 645Z + 67 M 105 mm f/2.4 : very nice sharpness and contrast

Today I tried my 67 M 105 mm f/2.4 on the 645Z for the first time. Brilliant viewfinder image, easy to focus, auto-exposure in Av mode. I think the results are quite sharp even if taken handheld. I saw little sun, maybe 15 minutes in all today. Pictures taken either @ f/8 or f/11 and ISO 800. The 105 acts as a short telephoto (85 mm on FF).

Thank you for these kind words. I have always been fascinated by lenses, they are objects of beauty in themselves and permit us to capture the beauty of light and of the Universe around us. I am a realist too and I know lenses are just tools for the photographer, the same as hammers, saws or drills are simple tools for the carpenter. Nonetheless, I am always trying to find the "best lens" possible to give me those ultra-sharp results. There is nothing more pleasant than perusing at a huge photograph, feeling "you have entered the scene and you are there in the moment" and discerning myriads of details all over the photogram. Using cameras likewise is a pleasure, manipulating instruments, loading film or mounting the set-up on a tripod, composing a picture, evaluating the quality of light and now, with the advent of digital photography, reworking the results afterwards to create the "ultimate picture". Photography is a magnificent pastime, forcing you to get out of the house and permitting you to forget all your woes.

Regards

Ice forming on static rocks, Batiscan River in January. 645 Z + P67 105 mm f/2.4 @ f/8, near its optimum aperture opening.

My favorite shingle roof, 645 Z + P67 105 mm f/2.4 @ f/16 and f/8.

I shot my "alternate brick wall" with the P67 105 mm f/2.4. I think f/16 (upper picture) is a little better than f/8 but you must have appropriate support to avoid shake.

Excellent images. The 67 105 renders nicely.

Old 18th century historical building (1735), Quebec. 645Z + P67 105 mm f/2.4 @ f/8.

I was testing this newly "rediscovered" P67 lens on my 645 Z.
