Thank you for the comments @Barondla and @Mtkeller.

The spec on the right you refer to is one of four buzzards riding thermals. I counted a total of four of these birds of prey. On the jpg posted here I can only find three.

This is made up from about five or six panels if I recall correctly. I took a total of 15 frames to cover focus in near and distant objects as well, but using all of the frames produced a very flat image. Which is why I originally dropped this one from my selection. When I looked at the individual images again I selected only the few images that were really needed.

To my eye the composition has two shortcomings (a) the foreground across the image creates a barrier effect that blocks further interest, (b) the composition is unbalanced with prominent mountains on the left which then fades into the distance on the right.

Yet these two 'flaws' are what drew me in all the time. I'm sure there is some technical explanation which I achieved unintentionally.

I think this is one of those types of images that only comes to its intent if printed large, or viewed in full on a large screen.

Apologies for the rambling :-)
Thats not the way I read the image. I start at the bright yellow foreground on the left and follow it down the slope towards the right side. As the foreground is diminishing my eye moves up to the water and peaks in the background. Warm colors move forward and the cool blue water and mountains recede. Think this is part of the 3D effect. If the colors were reversed, with cool blue in the foreground, it wouldn't work. The sloping foreground moves the eye thru the picture and does it kind of diagonally vs the more common straight horizon. Diagonal compositions tend to be dynamic. That's my take.

645Z + P67 500 mm f/5.6 + 67 1.4X teleconverter

The use of the 1.4X converter is not recommended with a 67 film camera as vignetting may result, but there is no trace whatsoever of vignetting on a digital 645Z with its small 33 mm X 44 mm sensor. Prime lens @ f/16, so an effective taking aperture of f/22 in Av mode. Sharpness and contrast are still very satisfying. Focal length of 700 mm is equivalent to a 560 mm lens in FF.

My eye reads the image in yet another way! I start at the nearest point of the arc of the foreground, and then my eye travels to the left, as things brighten up (at least compared to going right). At the ridge, I follow it into the image, to the right. When I reach where the water almost meets that ridge, then my eye flows along the water and into the deepest background at the center of the image. I agree it's a very dynamic composition that leaves a lot to explore just on my computer monitor. It would be fun to see as a large print!

Thank you for your input @Barondla and @MTKeller. Got an order for a 102 inch x 40 inch canvas print for a couple's bedroom, the wall above the headboard.

The intent is to make the room feel larger with this panoramic view, as if it could be a view through a large window.

I'll post a picture of the final in about two weeks. Printing is quick, but I need to order more timber for the stretch frame.

Yesterday I took ownership of the smallest lens in the Fuji GF lineup, the GF50 f/3.5. It is pretty small and sharp, and makes the 100s incredibly easy to carry around.

Looking towards Bristol Bridge, Bristol

Had to go to the dentist in Sketty, Swansea, so parked up by the sea front and walked the 2 miles to the dentist. Passed the beautiful St Paul's church on my way. I only had my 50mm lens with me so took 5 shots and stitched them together...Took this on the way back as the light started to colour...

I found this tree interesting from this angle - even with the 23 f/4 it wasn't wide enough and would have been distorted, so did a vertical stitch of 6 shots:

Fuji GFX100s GF 32 - 64

1.

2. Clyne Lock

3.Same tree from behind water in the day GF 23 f/4

4. Approaching Aberdulais Basin, the end of the Canal

I like #3 with the tree bent into a seemingly impossible shape. Here in Hong Kong we have a lot of Chinese Banyan trees with weirdly shaped trunks and roots that extend down from the branches and merge with the tree trunk in some cases. Creates beautiful shapes. On my bucket list to take some pictures of them.

Image has lots of character. The Bleach Bypass works well here. Are you doing the process chemically during development or later digitally after scanning?

I skip the bleach during the C41 process.

Ivan, usually the HD 90 mm "doesn't impresses me much" (like the Shanya Twain song) but you nailed a beauty. Well done.
