Enhanced color shot of mineral deposits on the moon. There are subtle color variations to the moon that can be pulled out in Photoshop.

I actually did post the original a few pages back. Same shot just cropped tighter for the mineral moon. I got my 150-450 back from the shop today so I'm going to go out and play some more with that & the K-1. One moon shot I did with that lens actually had some of the color coming out SOOC, so I'm excited to see what I can do with that combo.

Nice......looking forward to the before and after with that new lens...

.....now you have generated this new question.....what does SOOC mean?...apparently, for all those grasping for meaning anywhere......Straight Out Of Camera...or...

.....Self-Organization-Oriented Computing....

...context being everything these days...i just betcha the meaning here (and not at the annual meeting of the Self-Organization-Oriented Computing movement) he just took a shot out of the camera and did no adjustments to it.....

Mineral Moon? What sort of moon is that?
Hi,

The one we wound up with after Apollo showed it was made from rocks and not cheese. Wallace and Gromit notwithstanding.

We went to the moon, learned it wasn't made of cheese.. We haven't been back since.

The "mineral" moon image looks like a stone illuminated by UV that is fluorescing colors in the visible. Perhaps that is the source of the term.

Hi,

Very nice. I might have to revisit The Big Ditch now that I have MF gear. The last time I was there it was with a Nikon FE....

Inspiring images. The lighting and composition are top class and have that amazing 3D look.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks so much, my friends - your positive feedback means a lot to me! I was very lucky with the conditions, considering this was the only time i ever went there and I only had a few hours.
