It's an age thing, the older you get the worse the midges get. WHen I was younger used to go out tapps aff and with shorts and just endure it. Now it's tuck everything in, cover up just to dodge them.

Ultimately they are just annoying, midges won't kill you but they'll drive you up the wall.

What's worse is summer is my favourite season to take pictures in. I love the greens, the warmth etc of the season so find it hard now.

I found them literally unbearable even as a youngster. One occasion in particular comes to mind, when I was about 17, on which I seriously contemplated drowning myself in a loch rather than tolerate them for another pecosecond.
In NZ I ended up in hospital on an antibiotic drip as a result of a sandfly bite that turned infected and red and hot.

An 11 shot handheld pano at Beachy Head near Eastbourne today. The cliff is 165 metres high (540ft) and there is a chaplaincy team on hand as it is a famous spot for jumpers.

Haven't been there for years! Lovely shot.
Are the 11 shots in 2 rows?

Yes. The photomerge tool in LR did a great job.

Some re-edits and some retrieved from the trash bin.

For some reason I'm fascinated by the concept of clouds and how many tons of water can simply 'fly' around in the sky.

#1- Sunset in Hong Kong

#2-#6 - taken from the apartment in Manila, where I stayed for a while, from the 55th floor.

Mist in Glencoe

Down the bottom end of the Glen. Really some grab and go ones these - taken on the way back from a sunset at Mallaig the next morning. I had a restive 4 hour nap in the off chance the Glen would deliver. My feeling, too good for the bin but not my best.

Still any excuse to get the 645z and 45-85 into action.

Dee Why Lagoon. Amazingly, this place is no more than 5 mins' drive (and 10 mins' walk from the car park) from where I live, but I have only just discovered this lovely island of vegetation. It's quite tucked away and you have to make your way through some quite dense undergrowth before even realising it's there.
