As is probably evident I am keeping myself busy in the Namibia folder, discovering new perspectives on old edits and binned images alike.
These pictures are from Death Valley in Sossus Vlei. These old charcoaled trees must have been standing here for hundreds of years. Nothing rots there, it only withers away. Makes you stop and wonder about time if you stop to absorb the landscape, that is in-between the tourists and selfie junkies.
We were fortunate to stay at a Government owned lodge within the restricted area, which gave us an hour head-start before the entrance gates opened to the public. That is the only way to get to Death Valley before sunrise, since there is a dusk to dawn curfew on driving. This area has some large antelopes and at night they can't see the car, only the head lights and when they cross the road they come running and try to jump over the head lights, but end up hitting the vehicle. The consequences are usually bad and sad for the occupants of the vehicle. Hence the curfew.
EDIT: Added a third picture of a famous dune close to Death Valley.
