Hi,

Many Fuji cameras with Pentax lenses. And that makes sense as Pentax has no MF body with the 100 MP Sony sensor. And, they have until 2Q 2023 to announce one before I wind up joining that club I think....

Hi,

There's a Pentax MF camera in use.

Wonderful looking places there. Looks like cold places, too!

I've been to the Boston one in 2013. I found it tough to get a good perspective on it.
One needs to be standing in interstate highway traffic to get good perspectives -- maybe laying in the back of a pickup truck with someone else driving, in bright daylight due to road unevenness precluding time exposures.

Well...we got us some turncoats in our midst. You should give them fellers a talkin' to. Next thing ya know, there's gunna be some kinda art stoodents in here with their Diana's and Holga's an' scratchy negatives.

The good news is: they and others have put the lie to the idea that our Pentax lenses aren't up to the challenge of new bodies!

My observation is: I like the Fuji pictures using the Pentax lens best, the coloring seems better. I would like to see Pentax update the 645Z.

Nature Reserve and camping area known as Lane Poole Reserve [sic]. Had a pleasant sunrise there with a bit of mist over the water. All shot with Leaf Credo 60 and Pentax 28-45mm at various focal lengths. All photos are exposure blended. Two are stitched panoramas.

I use the simulations that Adobe include that simulate the simulations that Fuji use in camera. I tend to use the "Nostalgic Neg" at sunrise/sunset as this accentuates the reds. It can sometimes make things look a little oversaturated, but this is sometimes a look I like - though I will sometimes calm the greens down individually in Lightroom.

Here is the same shot processed using 3 different simulations: Classic Neg, Nostalgic Neg and Provia. Apart from the simulation choice, all have been processed identically.

Classic:

Nostalgic:

Provia:

They probably named it Z because they knew that it would be the last of itīs kind. Beginning to think that since it has been 8 years since it got released. 645D to 645z only took 4 years.

Hi,

I have named the Pentax 100 MP as the 645Y and the 150 MP as the 645X. Just run the alphabet backwards.

And, they could do both. Sony makes both sensors. However, I am having my doubts as well because we have not seen the 645Y.\ and they've had more than enough time.

So, sadly, you may be correct: The Z is the end of the road....

The traffic in the Gangnam area meant that I missed the time just after sunset, so by the time I arrived at Seoul Forest, the colour had gone from the sky. I took a few shots anyway - the traffic was moving VERY slowly, so had to do a 1 min exposure...

We have heard that they had something in the pipeline. They've never said they were leaving this market---I'd honestly be surprised if they did.

From a couple of days ago, a sunrise looking west at Lake Clifton, which is a lake formed by a sand dune that cut off a section of the coast from the ocean. Hoping for a lot less wind and better reflections, but the photos turned out a bit better than I expected.

Both taken with Leaf Credo 60 and Pentax 28-45mm at the longer end. Vertical shot is focus blended and exposure blended with the sky. Horizontal shot one exposure. Both using a ND filter.
