Nikon 8000ED

QuoteOriginally posted by tuco Quote
I've seen some nice scans with the V700 (on web). I have the 9000ED and though it does a good job I have come across some negatives I've scanned with my Epson 4990 and rescanned them with the 9000ED and there was hardly any difference for web display and I kept the 4990 version of them up on my flickr stream. Here are two of them:
Now if you have to sell a body part just to get a 9000ED, I wonder what all those people salivating over the 645D have to sell to get that!
All right, I could not stand getting low res scan of my 645 negatives. I got a Nikon 8000Ed out of eBay. I will have to sell the body part that my wife is going to cut, if she ever finds out

So if anybody is interested by a brand new Epson V600 with Betterscan MF carrier, let me know.

Tuco,
I like your latest series of foggy photos. Coincidently, photo in the fog is one of my favorite style.

Cheers,

Luc

tuco: Nice, nice, nice! Incredible smoothness there. I need to get out and shoot more with my 645, to become part of this club.

Just amazing shots on this page!

I put way too much film in the freezer the past few months, and the weather is nice. I need to get that big boy crankin'.

Here is a shot I took around Halloween and applied a selective tone in the graphics editor. I would occasionally do the same thing with analog prints. You brush on the toner only to selected area of the print. Bleeding was difficult to control but with practice you could get decent results. I never liked the side of body mounted flash of the 400T. It always cast a shadow. But I guess in this shot I could have bounced it off the ceiling.

Great pictures, tuco, you have quite a few wonderful images posted - thanks for that!

And thanks, Peter, for the macro of the polished paua shell - I never had any interest in Macro photography, but purchased a 645 A 120mm nonetheless since it was cheap. This is inspiring - I now may find something to do with it - saw someone else here too posting an interesting colour pic too but forgot who and where

I haven't posted this before, as it is rather impressionistic as I was following the kitten around... and besides, I think I have this reversed ... and the scan was very dusty... But to me it has a charm to it. HP5+ in Ilfosol 3, SMC-A 75, P645

Sorry for the shameful plug but I thought you guys might like to see this video I put together. It is a DIY BW film agitation machine I made. I shot some video while building it and after over a year I finally got my butt in gear and finished editing it.

It doesn't look as good in this small version so click on the HD button to go to Vimeo to see the 720p HD version

I shot this with a 35mm adaptor on a HDV camera using the following lenses:

Pentax-M 24mm f2.8
Pentax-A 50mm f1.2
Pentax-FA 100mm f2.8 Macro
Carl Zeiss Planar T* 85mm f1.4 ZK
