Did you have to fight much flare for this with the Laowa?

Thanks, Matt! There was some flare in the shot (not helped by the fact that I had somehow not taken the lens hood out with me). Not as bad as the flare I posted here (message #102 here: Behind the Scenes of "Post your medium format photos!" - Page 7 - PentaxForums.com), and it could be managed in the editing. But yes, it was a factor.

Sydney's Vivid festival certainly produces some remarkable conditions...

Here we see the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, CBD and Barrangaroo seen from Blues Point.

GFX100S and Laowa 20mm - pano created with 2-shot horizontal shift. Each position in the shifting process shot several times to capture sky, light beams and bridge illumination.

Another side to Sydney's Vivid festival, this time within the disused tram tunnels running from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Wynyard. I've wanted to get down here since I first moved to Australia (13 years ago) and finally have the chance, albeit with crowds and crazy lighting!

All with GFX100S and Pentax 645 28-45mm lens. Some hand-held with high ISO and IBIS; others with mini-tripod (not permitted, but hey!) and still pretty high ISO to allow short enough shutter speeds to capture the changing light.

Those are great! Looks like a fun experience too. Are they lasers? I've heard of sensors being damaged by laser light. Any concerns about that?

Silicon sensors, like those in the human eye, are capable of being damaged by thermal stress. In the case of cw lasers, the limit is about 1 mW/cm^2. (I don't have ANSI Z136.1 in front of me, so this is from memory.) For narrow pulse lasers, the limit is more like 1 microjoule/cm^2 into the eye. The green display above is likely either cw doubled YAG being thrown around such that the time on the eye is very short, or very repetitive pulsed doubled YAG where the individual pulses are short but weak, so the averaging gets one closer to the cw limit. So I would qualitatively assert (or at least believe) that if it is safe for the unaided eye, it is likely safe for the camera, but keep in mind it is possible for a large lens capturing a direct hit to focus it onto a single pixel, so one gets into the relative "hardness" of eye focal plane tissues vs. that of silicon photodetector cells.

We don't see burn spots in the latter [?] images, so apparently the green shots were safe.

From last night trying out the 1.4x TC on the 100-200. Seems pretty sharp and the light loss isn't a big deal for landscape work.
This is at 200mm x 1.4 = 280mm (GFX 50r)

Looks cool to me. Might try a barely perceptible background instead of pure black. Something very basic to break the black up.
Thanks for sharing,

Agree - that would make it more scary because a) it would make it seem more 'real' by placing it in the world rather than in abstract blackness and b) it would also make the barely perceptible scene somehow make the viewer feel that it's something you can almost discern (always scary, like something shocking coming out of peripheral vision!).

Brisbane's skyline seen at sunrise from the summit of Mount Coot-tha (also known as One Tree Hill). For once, I was glad of the dark cloud in the lower sky, since it allowed the lights of the buildings to stand out more than they would have against a light area of sky.

Fuji GXF100S with Pentax 67 150mm lens...
