Nice colours! Straight from the film or with a little post here and there?

Snow and Red Rock

Snow fall doesn't last too long in SW Utah. We tend to have the AZ/CA Mojave type of climate as opposed to the 'real winter' that other parts of Utah experience. We had rain for two days combined with a snowstorm that blew through last evening. I went to nearby Snow Canyon State Park for sunrise. This 645D image from this morning, stitched from three vertical frames, manual focus 35mm @ F16. Processed in LR 3.0, stitched in CS4.

Lovely image!

How did you stitch it in CS4? Not that easy, I suppose

On my way up to the Lakes a few weeks ago, I had a meeting in London and didn't have time to set up my tripod this time, but wasn't approached by anyone in Paddington

Thanks! It's actually pretty easy to stitch in CS4 although some of the Adobe nomenclature is counter-intuitive. I go to AUTOMATE, then PHOTOMERGE, then I select the image files and choose one of the projections offered, usually CYLINDRICAL or REPOSITION, and then I let CS4 do the rest. When the image is presented, and before flattening, I can see the actual stitch lines and determine whether or not there are objectionable errors. I do any final touch ups, dodging/burning, sharpening, etc., then save PSD, TIFF and JPG files.

I've been very impressed with the nik software that I've used, so I got the color efex 4 and viveza2 plus their sgarpener and noise reducer tonight. Here is my first play with some of those. I'm pretty happy.

This is the shot before:

and this is after applying ND Grad preset in Color efex and adjusting contrast in Viveza 2

and after a minor adjustment:
