I had to do a bit of a double take. I walked that same riverbank about 3 years ago this coming May. I must say that Linz looks a bit grim in mid-winter.

Exploring the square format

I usually prefer the rectangular format, especially the 2:3 aspect ratio of 35mm. 645 is 3:4 and also works well. 6x7 with a true aspect ratio of 4:5 is sometimes too square for me. But the square format can sometimes work very well. Here are two shots cropped from 645:

I like the slower shutter speed and lower perspective of the second one best, but the image is perhaps slightly overexposed. The exposure of the first one is better.

It must be great to have a weather-sealed medium format camera :-)

Thanks - The fact that the DA 25 is also weather shielded helps also!

5 sec ƒ/11 ISO 100 25 mm: Used the top of a tensa barrier to rest the camera on which saved having to use a high ISO speed

1/40 ƒ/8 ISO 200 25 mm

Great shots, everyone!

And to my fellow TLR user and those who like shots with a 1:1 aspect ratio; It's hip to be square!
