Hey guys I'm planning on getting a medium format too. If anyone here knows where I can process 120 film in Northern Virginia that would be awesome!
If there are any local places that do developing I would check there first. I buy my film online....ship it right to my door, easy

Just curious what you will be shooting with....or still shopping?

Thank you sir. I finally found one but it's like 45mins away from me, luckily my gf goes to school on that area and I can probably just ask her to drop it off for me. It's $5.99 a pop for 120 plus 4.99 for the scan and 220 $7.99 and for scan $7.99

I'm thinking of getting a TLR $100 - 150 budget (I would love to try a square format camera) or maybe once I get enough money I can get one of those medium format cameras that has the Polaroid back (Mamiya RB67, MAMIYA RZ67)

Do you have any suggestions for me?

Hey there, new to the forum, and also new to photography in general. Have had a 6x7 for a few months now, but haven't had much chance to take it out. Looking forward to learning to really put it to use.

Select the BB code option instead of HTML when you grab a link from Flickr and post it here. You'll have better results.

I have a Yashica 24 - it's great, check out my flickr for shots. I thought the lens would be a little flare prone, but check this out... (Unfortunately it seems to have got bubbles in the developer)

It's pretty much the same as the 124G, but was designed for 220 film (although it works just fine with 120), and seems to go cheaper, as does the Yashica 12.

It's given me the square format bug, I'll probaly be looking for a Mamuya or Bronica system soon.

"Counting Out" is a nice photo....did plenty of that while I was in the service industry

"Storm on 395" is awesome by the way.

And that is only half the DR he could otherwise get with special metering and developing. It is possible to get the Sun visible as a small round disk and get full detail of the people, believe it or not. But you need to develop the film yourself.

I used the 45mm f/4 for that shot, I really like the lens so far.

Tell me more... I did develop it myself, interested to hear how I can increase the DR in future. BTW, I was metering with an old selenium cell meter, pretty hit and miss. Normally I take my K5 and use the spot metering function and expose for the highlights.

Great info, Tuco, now I feel like I should get a spotmeter and some gray fabric!

Trying out a 645n because I want to use a MF camera to pursue climbing photography. Autofocus is a nice feature but really it comes down to having focus confirm and continuous shooting.

The Epson software with my V500 does this automatically, as will other third-party scanner software such as Vuescan.
