I went right back to the previous spot to shoot fireworks behind Coit Tower. Here's a pano with the 67 M*300/4 on the 645D. Better to click the pic for a better view.

Undecided whether to crop the shoreline from this; I love the light at the horizon. Lake Erie at sunset:

I vote keep the shoreline. I like the perspective and contrast etc., etc.

Very new medium format user and this would be to date my most successful shot. Took this with the 645Z and kit 55, will have the 28-45 soon so can make use of the entire sensor.

Love this image. I lean towards a slight crop, maybe cropping just above the light dark transition, or just below it. Seems like it would match the mood and the horizon. Is this for sale?

I'd keep the shoreline but I do wish it was head on so that there wasn't an angle to it, can you rotate the image anti clockwise slightly or just transform the foreground a bit? Great layering.

Hi Tom,

I like the beautiful simplicity of a cropped version but the original is more compelling to me and has a nice complexity to it. I'm with Gareth in that If the foreground became parallel to the horizon you might get closer to the aesthetic that drew you to capture it in the way you did. I have a similar photo I worked up recently, that was a bit off, and I duplicated the background layer, did a free transform in photoshop to stretch the sky, and then blended that layer with a simple mask to the original. It worked nicely and was just the nudge that photo needed. Depending on how you view that sort of thing, you might want to give it a try. I would also play with luminosity masks to see what lightening the dark tones in the foreground might do. One other thing I'd try would be to either clone out those light pebbles or sticks, or at least darken them - again with luminosity masks - so my eyes wouldn't linger on the photos edge.

My two cents worth. A very nice photo by the way.
