Thanks again....will try on my new 645Z....I have had focussing issues on landscapes as MF is new to me.....but seems like your focussing 'rule' of a third into the frame is similar to 35mm....FYI Guy Aubertin seems to use stacking often on his 645 landscape work..
DOF with Pentax MF zooms can be a challenge. I put hyperfocal marks on my two zooms for my 6x7. They are based on the prime lenses DOF scales. As an example for my 55-100 zoom, I put two hyperfocal marks for each of the 3 focal lengths shown on the lens barrel; one for f/11 and one for f/32, making 6 marks total. Each focal length has its own color marks so as not to confuse them. A bit of trial and error is required to get the hyperfocal distance marks correct on the lens barrel but once done correctly, can save some missed shots in the field.

My first real go at this style. I enjoy the process quite a bit.

Pentax 645Z + FA45-85mm 645 lens.

Thanks for looking,
Tom :-)

Great moody landscape Mike.
A couple of photos from Zion NP this November.I apologize for the first shot being a bit of a cliche, but it was still a nice fall day.Pentax 645Z and 25mm.
Nothing cliche about those, both are great!

I just got back my first roll of Velvia 50 from the processors yesterday. These were my first slide film shots I've ever made. I think I'm going to like using it!

Shot on my Mamiya RB67 ProS with a Sekor KL180mm lens on Velvia 50.

Pentax 645N, 150-300mm, HP5+, Diafine, Hasselblad X1 scans.

Left over from Christmas:

and today:

I'm afraid I have been using a Graflex Crown Graphic, and a Chamonix 045N-2 lately, and medium format doesn't seem to do it for me now I have tasted the hard stuff. I have a freezer full of film, and nearly all of it is 35mm and 120, so I will do my best to use it before the grim reaper comes for me!

Some more from the South Wales coast - this time further west in a pretty village called Laugharne. It's most famous for its links with the poet Dylan Thomas. I spent earlier in the day in Llansteffan, some photos from there later. I seem to spend half my time cloning dust spots now. I have SO much dust on my sensor....

I spent the whole day with just my tripod, filters and the 28 - 45.

1. Wales has hundreds of castles. I visited two of them today. Used Big Stopper on this one

2. And the Little Stopper on this one:

3. Little Stopper again:

4. Just the 0.6 GND soft on this one, which is my favourite of the bunch. I did notice the empty space at the top (once I'd cleared the dust spots) but felt that it added to the simplicity of the shot

5. No filter needed for this one, a 12 minute exposure under moonlight

Thank you, Mike. The light was great and the dome of Milan is a very impressive building.
