Nice, you don't see that much snow there very often!

The visual motif is a little hackneyed, of course, but I couldn't resist:

645Z plus 25mm f4 DA and B+W 10 stop ND:

645Z plus 28-45 f4.5 DA @ 29mm with Lee 2.5 stop ND:

As I am still pretty much tied to short journeys away from home on health grounds I like to get the 645Z out of the house each day along with the dog. This shot was with the FA 645 150mm 2.8 at ISO 2000. Pretty low light as it was snowing a bit at the time and dense sitka spruce plantation all around.

winter sky

My motorcycle buddies and I started a monthly photo contest about 4 years ago to help get us through the long, cold winters. The contest has turned out to be more enjoyable for us (and the restaurant servers who are the judges!) than we ever imagined. Though most of the guys submit photos taken with modern digital cameras and smartphone cameras, I like to dip into my large classic camera collection and shoot black and white. Here's my entry for January, 2016 taken with my Pentax 645n with 45mm f/2.8 lens and orange filter. The contest theme is "winter sky." The monthly theme is selected by whoever wins the contest.

When flying, which I do very frequently, I always choose a window seat so I can grab a camera and take shots out of the window. Reaching back with a large camera can be a little awkward at times, but I do my best...

These are all from a flight from Helsinki to Heathrow, having slept most of the journey from Seoul to Helsinki.
