Thanks! I'm enjoying shooting with it. I've only had it a couple of months but it felt pretty natural to me right away.

Some lovely shots as always. I am very curious about the development of #2 above, with the rock wall. You don't need to go into proprietary details, but I'm wondering if/how you massaged that, given the scenes wide DR. Thanks.

Thanks. I did it using one of the things I love about the Z in the first place. In LR, I pushed the shadows by 95. Then in Nik Color Efex I also used a grad, and paid absolutely no IQ penalty for it.

In fact, I also did a BW version and dodged the cave, as the film emulation I used made it darker...

still no real IQ penalty and no NR used...

Thank you! IIRC, many of your images you use a light hand on in PP. This one jumped out at me as a sort that would need more. Yet it's also clear that you didn't have to heavily manipulate it, or "repair" it after the necessary manipulations. Impressive. So, as you say, this points up why you and we all love this great photographic instrument.

And I didn't mean to ignore your shots, Ed. That first one is quite startling. I do love your "Spiffing Pics" logo, btw.

I went through my cartoony stage a few years ago, and now process in a more subtle way. Sometimes people make suggestions (not on here) on how to make some of my images 'pop', but I try to keep things believable.
