I went down to the lake tonight. Nice sunset and the ice is starting to break up but it is still very thick here.

Hi
The 645 400mm 5.6 at about 4m. Not bad for a $900 lens.
Stunning indeed.
I wondered if it actually couldn't be it's 600mm stared par

Years back, I did a whole series of these with the Pentax 67 and 135mm macro lens to show depth of field - here are the extremes, at f/4 and f/32 - moderately interesting to see now

f/4

f/32
i like the color gradation, with the lavender / blue on top.

And i would have bet that DOF increase a lot more than that when you stop down, even at close focusing distance

I think that's the key - close up - but I tried to arrange it so the 'circle of confusion' covered covered the weights at f/32, but there's not much to spare, I agree

Thanks, thats the look im going after, my 105 is quite sharp at 2.4 , the biggest issue to nail focus, most of the time im getting eyelashes in focus and not the eye.. its hard.

Having any other focusing screen than the standard matte screen make it easier

I don't have the slightest idea if you can change it on the 645D/Z ( i only own the P6x7 in MF)
