Thank you. I used an equatorial mount to track the motion of stars, so there are no star trails. The nearly 4 hr of exposure is actually composed of more than 80 3-minute exposures at ISO 800. The short-exposure images are stacked in post processing to reach an equivalence of 2-hr long exposures. Then the two 2-hr panels are stitched in Photoshop to form the panorama.
All I can say is WHOW! That's a lot of tech knowledge plus skilled effort!

Last Weekend, there is a Pentax K1 Hands On Session organised by APDS, distributor for Pentax SG.

Pentax 645Z is also available for us to try and play with it.
Although it was a short time with the 645Z, it was a great experience with it. The handling is great and the weight balance felt is also good.

Taken with DFA645 55mm F2.8 for a simple strobe set up for us to try.
I have uploaded the full size, do note there is editing on in lightroom and skin tone adjustment..

A crop from the middle portion.. so much details. damn impressed by the camera.

I was after the solstice full moon but eastern clouds blocked it until it was too dark.
So I got the solstice sunset instead. Great storms to catch the light. Donated blood to the mosquitoes.

P645D and P67 200 f4 lens. Two from a few weeks' back:

This one is a 2-shot stitch. Mistiness on the left was approaching light rain (original uploaded at 1600px width).

As beautiful as these are, there's just no way I wouldn't have had my fly rod in my hands. Even considering I'd probably get poorer results than with my camera! That is just some lovely water, especially # 1. But good on ya for your community spirit in donating blood, done it many times myself.

Wow, those have such nice atmosphere. Great work! I take it you are happy with the 67 200/4? I have the 645 200/4 and my copy seems good but I have seen some negative reviews.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm a worse fisherman than a photographer so I do what I know. This stretch is fished a little but there's better fly fishing spots around so it doesn't get a whole lot of angler action.

Also, the mosquitoes are as bad as I have ever seen them. So thick coming up in clouds from the grass. I had to take extreme measures to try and keep my blood!

Long time exposures

Lake of Paeffikon in Zurich/Switzerland. Like the smooth surface with the blur of the moving boats... :-)

Thanks a lot Matt. As you know I liked your two shots posted above also

The light that evening was great, so it was a good starting point. The first one I posted had almost no inherent colour due to the angle of the sun, therefore it was a good candidate for a mono conversion. I find Silver Efex Pro very satisfying and rarely have to tweak the recipes for my own use, simply choosing one or other of them.

I do like the P67 200. I had the P645 version for a while but didn't use it much and so sold it on. I think the P67 has somewhat higher resolution and contrast but I'm really not a good critical judge of lenses! I rely heavily on the great synopses posted in the reference area of this forum.

Ristretto - very nice images! I took similar ones in a harbour in Ireland, however there was more movement of the boats and the effect was not as subtle as yours, therefore not as effective.

Thank you guys for your comments

Tons of great stuff here every day

I always try to control the blur effect by choosing the right aperture/exposure combination which results often in more than one try...
