Thank's for the toutorial in sharpening!
Your welcome guys! Tuco let me know that the images weren't showing up and helped me track down the problem. I believe it is fixed now. Thanks tuco!

About the scanner: 8 or 16 bit for BW negative (I use ED 9000 Nikon)?
Always use the highest bit-depth you can! Working in 16 bit helps preserve your gradations and prevents posterization, even if your printer is only 8 bit.

I'm starting to suspect the Yashinon on the Mat is actually a little bit sharp

Yashica Mat 124G, Neopan 100, D-76 1:1, Epson 4490

That's the Goldman Sachs building in Jersey City, across the river from Manhattan.

"100%" crop of the 1200 dpi scan
It does a good job for sure. The leaf shutter in those TLRs helps too.

Another rescan and go at using the tutorial. The ferry is departing from the terminal. And it took many tries over the course of several weekends shooting this shot. You have to record the ferry sitting still for at least 3/4 of the exposure time or more; otherwise, it is too "ghostly". And to do that you have estimate when the ferry is leaving. This shot was 90 seconds.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year (yes, a bit late sorry).
Great to see some lovely photos posted in the last couple of pages Unfortunately I am still waiting to do some development before I can post any new material. Over here in Australia it is extremely hot and has been since before Christmas. I don't fancy developing at 30 C liquid temp (often 35+ ambient and even over 20 at night).
On that note, we are finally buying an airconditioner!
cheers,
Jason

Welcome, Gary. Congrats on your new forthcoming camera. Those two classics you have are cool. You live in the heart of the Willamette Valley, I see.

Another trip to Ruby Beach. It was a cold, gray and dreary day. I took this almost identical shot with my 6x7 a couple of trips ago.
