Wow Marcus, nice butterflies shots

Thank you. Shot in control environment, much easier as the butterfly was not as active as it should be.

A few from last night chasing the moon. None of my 645D moon shots came out (moon blown out) but I did manage some on the K-1. Tough conditions, I should have come to this spot a day earlier!

645D & A 200/4 which I noticed some fungus in yesterday. Doesn't seem noticeable in photos.

I stitched 4 images from the 67 300/4 for this pano

I'm pretty sure that's what it is! But I doubt you can catch it from my lens.
I'll see if I can get a photo of it when I have a chance. Images from that lens still look fine as far as I can see.
I live in such a dry climate I'm thinking it must have been there when I bought it but I didn't notice it at the time.

Since it was the cheapest MF lens I own I'm not too concerned. I have heard people worry about fungus spreading from lens to lens but as far as I understand it, the spores are already everywhere. You just need to keep them dry and it won't grow. Unless this is some new drought resistant fungus...

Thanks! I'm not geologist and this is the Elk Mountain range which separates the Aspen area from the Crested Butte area (thankfully! ).
Most of our mountains here are granite and shale so I'm pretty certain it isn't sandstone. My best guess is granite.

It's so weathered, especially compared to the mountains in the distance. You do find very rounded granite forms like that along the east coast, just not hills and mountains of the stuff (that I've ever seen).

Here's more than almost anyone would want to know about the geology of the Elk Mountains:
