My first in 30 years

I picked up a P645 and three "A" lenses to learn the aspect ratio and get my feet wet in prep for a 645D later this year (provided I like the format. . .) I hadn't touched a medium format camera in at least 30 years, but I really like the engaging feel of the camera and lens. The tough part is learning to be patient again until the results come back.

Just one, not great art, but a good baseline for my learning.

This lens makes so many photos unexpectedly worthwhile. I did similar test shots when I just received it, and liked the result, just as your shot.

Very dramatic... As I let my eye wander across this landscape I'm reminded of the book trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson; Red Mars, Green Mars, and Blue Mars, describing settling of Mars and its apparently similar canyonlands.

Takes me back. In my youth, I once lived and worked on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. I only had a point-n-shoot with me at the time though. During the course of a year I saw some really dramatic scenes.

Some great shots being posted in this thread. Nice to see some 645D shots showing up.
Tuco the sand in your last one is amazing.

I don't have much to contribute right now but I have been going through all my past 67 shots for a calender project and came across one I had pretty much forgot I had taken.
This was the 4th frame from the very first roll I ever ran through a 67. I was testing a 67II that got me hooked but I eventually sold. I used the money I made from it to repair my current 67, 45/4, and 90/2.8 setup. This was also one of the first frames I scanned on my Epson V500.

I had just bought my second P6x7 off eBay with a 45mm f/4, and picked it up in person. I threw a roll of XP2 in it and went out to the Ballard Locks (Seattle) to find some pics to try it out. I like this one but it doesn't get much attention... ??

Congrats on the new gear. Good results. That's a fun lens to shoot. Was that today? Because today we finally some decent weather and I couldn't go out. And it looks like rain, again, for Sunday when I can.

Thanks! I rather like all the lines and shadows and oval shapes... Anyway, sorry, that was July 15 2003. That very-late almost-67 6x7 joined the non-MLU model I got used in 1976, and I later added two P67II bodies as well. I really like them all, but especially the 67II!

The seller of this camera had finally given up his dream of pursuing a profession of safari photography. He got this camera, the 45mm for camp, and the 300/4 for business + 2x extender and a Photo-Trekker backpack... then acquired a wife and a couple kids, decent job... Eventually gave up and sold the gear as a package on eBay. I picked it up in Bellevue at his work and hustled over to Ballard.

Nice here today too. If you can stand a bit more rain, then there are possibilities then too, with the wetness providing some interesting reflection and sparkle. Have fun!

Oh, duh. It was late, I was tired and I didn't catch the word "had". I thought you just bought the gear.
