It's almost looks like reticulation. Do you use an alkaline developer and strong acid fixer?
For fixer I always use Ilford Rapid Fixer. For developer I usually use Ilfosol but this one may have been Rodinal that I was finishing off.

A strong acid stop bath is the main culprit with reticulation, and also poor temperature control. I use a water bath instead of a stop bath.

But this does not look like reticulation to me.

Okay, a good combo there. I'd add I've experienced something similar (without spots) with 400TMY and PanF but on a much smaller scale a few times in the last couple years.

We, as film shooters, have that little problem of getting the "shot" when there is not enough light for the film you're using.
I decided to gain one stop, many two, with Portra 800. This is my first outing to test it for general daylight shooting.
I only purchased one roll to see how it looks compared to my prior film of choice, Portra 400. Looks like I will buy
more based on the results and the lab people tell me it pushes to 1600 nicely.

Fuji GA645Wi
f/16 1/400 ISO 800
Yes Portra 800 is very forgiving. (Did I read that correctly that this shot was Portra 800 rated at 400?) It's often not even necessary to push it.
In 135, similarly, I moved from Superia 400 to 800 as my "everyday" color film when I realized how lovely Superia800 looks when rated for 200.

This could easily be reticulation. Some films more likely to experience than others. I would consider safe films from the likes of Kodak and Ilford; safe in terms of less chance of reticulation.

The biggest cause of reticulation is big temperature changes occuring rapidly. So going from a 'normal' dev temp to cold fixer or even cold wash can cause a 'shock' to the emulsion with the result in reticulation.

Thank you...1/400 @ 800. I just got a "brick" for my MZ-S and will be shooting it tomorrow in low light conditions. Results to follow...(in the film forum).

I just received a new (to me) Pentax 645D. I couldn't wait until tomorrow to get it into the mountains, so I hopped in the truck and drove to the local lake just as the sun was setting for a quick photo.

I think I am going to be HAPPY with this camera!

Thanks everyone for the info, I hadn't even heard of reticulation until now. I don't believe that this is likely to be the case here as I take quite a lot of care with temperature of the chemicals I use. These were developed in late January I think, and though the thermometer is usually in the developer rather than the fixer or stop bath, this roll was developed last so the fixer had had plenty of time to stabilise at room temperature which would have been very close to the 21ºC or so of the developer. The stop bath, being a use-once chemical, would have had less time but had still been in the basin of water for 25 minutes or so when it was used.

Anything's possible and as some have commented, some films are more prone than others, so whether this is reticulation or the pattern is film damage, I won't be buying more Fomapan 100 (or any other of the Fomapans).

Here are a few others from the same roll, which show far less of this problem, but they have very little sky in the image so perhaps that is just hiding it. These ones have a vehicular theme.

I really like the subject isolation of the first one. The 105/2.4 does that well too.
