I posted both to show what I did with a side by side. I was not trying to offend you, and I can see how it can be taken that way by me posting an altered shot of the photo, which is like me saying " hey this looks better" it was more of a friend saying those pesky cables are in the view of a great shot.
I'm not the greatest cloner in the world and had cloned them out of another shot.

As much as I like your photo, it must have been a great experience to actually be there and see that view...really cool with the clouds covering what lies below, and the snow capped mountains....awesome.

Yes we stayed over New Year. The wife likes snow but we rarely get it in the UK

Having been offline for a few days, just wanted to thank everyone who kindly offered feedback on the two versions of the Tower Bridge night shot from The Shard. Truly appreciated and I agree with the consensus...

Warmest,
Ed

I'm interested in everyone's views on this...

The first shot is one that I posted a few days ago of the scene from the Shard. The second one includes a sky that occurred earlier the same evening, composited onto the same scene.

Which do you prefer...?

I vote for number two.

Some Delta 3200

This is a super neat photo. I got a peak into wide format cameras with the Lomo Sprocket Rocket, but it's such a limited feature camera, I'd love to try one like this.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm always looking for wide compositions now. I enjoy the format a lot. The GX617 doesn't have a lot of features either. You have to focus by DOF scale when film is loaded; otherwise, you can focus using a loupe like a view camera using a ground glass insert Fuji made for it. But I never carry that with me. I want to start doing more color with it even some E6 but I want to get some other color developing equipment first.

Some Vericolor HC 100. It's about 1:00AM and people at Camp Muir on Mt. Rainier are gearing up to head to the top. Back then you didn't need a permit. You could just freely go!

I'd add I know an online person that is 3-D printing 6x12 and 6x17 format pano bodies. You need to supply the lens and view finder for lens/aspect combo. But he has working examples and I've seen pictures from people who purchased copies of his camera. He made his helicoid go past infinity for a macro option that I wish the designers of the GX617 would have thought of.
