I took a quick glance out of the window of my house in the Lake District and ran out the door grabbing the Z from the car...it had been cold and miserable all day, though dry. I wasn't expecting anything eventful in the evening or else I would have got into a better spot - even just further the other way, but knew that if I switched locations it would fade. There was fiery red all around in every direction.

And one from the beach a little later...

It's the middle of June (though feels like February here, it's 10 degrees C) and June is in the middle of the picture...

I FINALLY got outside with my 645Z after a pretty long dry spell since March when Ed Hurst was in San Francisco.

This morning we got a decent burn in the California Delta:

Stunning, I saw similar in Wales but sadly didn't have any gear with me.

For some reason it was free to enter the park yesterday.
This was taken from the Virginia side about 7am.

Nice shot. Recalling my single-digit-age childhood, there was a merry-go-round (carousel) on the VA side of the falls. Some searching suggests it was lost in a flood. Any ruins remain? (I'm referring to the type with wooden horses and calliope, not a playground device.)

I also remember the scary hike over part of the falls on the MD side, which Google maps informs me is the Olmsted Island Trail.

Thanks. No ruins, I think you are remembering the carousel over in Glen Echo Park over on the Maryland side which is still there, the parking lot flooded and washed away a few cars a while back. And the Olmsted Island Trail does go over some falls but now is a fairly tame bridge/walkway. The Billy Goat Trail does have a scary hike up past the Falls.

Friends, my photo is in the running for the cover of the 2020 Save The Bay calendar. If you are on facebook and can throw some Pentax love my way, I'd much appreciate it...click this link to get to the contest, then put a link on my specific photo. Every vote helps!
thanks
