Trying to salvage old damaged negatives for keep sake. These Vericolor shots were lab developed. They are getting color density patches on them too.

That's just wonderful--and with such subtle colors. It provides some...saturation relief.

The 6x7 must be a beast to handle on the deck of a yacht

I don't think so. This was the only time I found the wooden grip useful. I used a prism here but normally I have the camera fitted with the folding hood. The camera is less bulky in that configuration.

At least you can hold a 6x7 safely in one hand with the wooden grip (although I keep checking that retaining nut - I find it tends to loosen).
Sailors in the days of sail had a meme "One hand for the ship and one for yourself.". You could equally say "One hand for the camera and one for yourself"

Yeah. The camera can be big and bulky when you start shooting telephoto. But if I said I took the picture with my DSLR and one of the zooms I have for it, I bet nobody would think twice about that I was a using a big, bulky camera. But my small format DSLR with a zoom is a big and heavy camera! A few millimeters less/more here or there and a few less/more grams of mass don't mean a lot in reality for me.

Edit: I have to admit, the wooden grip was useful thing in shots like these; otherwise, I never bothered to carry it around. I also had the camera strap around my neck too just in case.... Sailing is slow enough that you can do your job and take pictures too.

Vericolor 400

Getting passed. We're heeled over just as much and I'm taking this from the low side of the boat.

Love the clarity in these shots. I can get that with my Hasselblad 503CX & Ektar 100 using either of my Zeiss lenses but have yet to achieve that with the Z, although I am trying. Got some good tips from MikeSF that I'm putting into my workflow and they have made a nice difference. I have a D-FA 28-45mm coming next week and have high hopes for it, so we'll see.

Cornbread the medium format way

Being under house arrest for a month is an unnerving experience! I have turned to cooking up some of the old-fashioned dishes from my young days in Texas. Here's some cornbread.

KIT: Z with Pentax 67 135mm f 4.0 macro @ f 4.0. This is not really a macro lens, but rather a great close-up lens.
