Nice moon photo. Especially tough in daylight. That is a large lens on the 645D. I have the same Uni-lock tripod. It really works great for macro.

Thanks for sharing,

A painterly rose

The more I use the Pentax 67 75mm f 2.8 the more I like it. Here is a rose SOC with just minor reframing cuts.

Very pretty, and nice "framing" by the slightly defocused surrounding leaves. Do you recall the f/no you used?

Not much missing from that scene. Might be a winner in the category of clutter score times interest score.

Hey, barondla----

I bet that image is better than the way it looks here. I think you've encountered the forums upload problem. I reached out to Ed Hurst about what he did to get his images to look so good here, and he shared his process with me. I haven't used it yet----for several reasons, including the fact that it is well beyond what I normally do sharpening wise, but it sure works for him! Mike SF clearly has a good one, too.

Yes, it is far sharper than what is shown here. I need to check it out on Flickr to see if it looks closer to the original. This lens is comparable with the DFA 645 55mm. It is what I was hoping for and possibly more. I will have to study sharpening for this site.

My lens line up is almost complete. Adding this to the DFA 645 55, FA80-160, A 120 macro, FA 300 F5.6, Rear converter 1.4X and extension tubes covers about anything. Might still consider an 645 FA 400 and Rear Converter 2X.

Now to convince myself to buy a backpack.

Thanks,
barondla

I recommend the FA400, just a little less sharp than the FA*300, but not much. I hope you like using tripods more than I do or don't mind running up the ISO to get a faster shutter.

What sort of backpack are you looking for? And I'd love to know what you think of that 300...I have an A* 300, but it needs a separate support since that lens does not have a foot. I rarely use tele, but got a great deal on it. I'm thinking the built in foot on the FA 300 f5.6 and the AF might get me to use it a bit more....and yes, the DFA 35 and 55 lenses are comparable and excellent.
