Ed, your dedication and sheer stamina are impressive. I can rarely make it past 3pm ...

This reminds me of a wonderful quote by Danny Lyon I stumbled across the other day: " his house has been demolished and replaced by a condominium, an extraordinarily ugly, two-storey brick building with a wrought iron entrance. It was a horror of architecture." -- we also have a plague of high rise developments disfiguring our city, with the occasional crane crashing down as one did recently, instead of stopping at two stories, the latest are pushing 40, 60, even 80. Investment vehicles for kleptocrats (and kleptobrats), many of the completed units stand empty or were operated as 'sharing economy' ghost hotels (ruining business for legitimate operators), until the pandemic put a stop to that.

Well, thanks - that's very kind of you. It's really the result of utter obsessiveness on my part... I don't know whether it's an admirable trait though. I genuinely think it's contributing to rapid ageing, especially when combined with a demanding job and having two young boys. But I have long since realised I don't have a more sensible, relaxing choice. If I don't go and do these things, I just stress even more about what I am missing, which is even more exhausting and destructive. So I might as well do it and at least have the pictures to show for it at the end

Ed's sheer humility is always refreshing, too. Geez, Ed, take some credit once in awhile man!!

Thank you so much, guys. This is where, as an Englishman, I go into that bashful, bumbling appreciation where I don't quite know where to put my eyes - in the style of Hugh Grant. Saying things like "gosh", "goodness gracious!", "I mean...", "well...", then changing the subject.

Means a lot to me. And right back at you! Being in a group like this, where the standard is so high, is a constant spur to keep trying :-)

Nice image!

In this world of strife, it's great to see someone giving peas a chance!

Perhaps the follow-on picture can help everyone visualize whirled peas.

Hi,

What does the Jolly Green Giant want more than anything else?

Whirled Peas!

Yeah. Ugh! But, that's the last one from me. I posted the other one in the other thread. Balance, you know!

However, If I find that Whirled Peas shirt my screenprinter wife did many moons ago, I shall string it up and shoot it MF and post it! Just fair warning there.

Hi,

That 67 soft focus lens is dreamy. I might have to get me one of those.

Edit: I looked it up on eBay. Is this a design with a sieve aperture plate? That would explain the look. I think I might just buy the thing. I have nothing like that in either the Pentax or Nikon systems.
