Yes that is another great shot.
I love the drive all the way from Westport down to Canon Beach.

Another great image Tuco! I need to get out to the coast.

The Milky Way displays a dark band bisecting the star clouds and is known as the Great Rift. This field of view is rather large considering it was shot with a Pentax 67 and 75mm f/4.5 Takumar wide open at f/4.5. Konica Centuria Pro 400 was used in this 50 minute exposure. Stars do not trail during the exposure because the camera was mounted on an equatorial mount with clock drive. Dark skies are a must in order record such images. Image taken October 2009.

And amazing sky! Is this film a good alternative to your E200?

More like 2 hours, but still quite doable. I am thinking of heading over to Skamokawa on the lower Columbia River later in the week. The area is quite photogenic and I am hoping for some fog. I may continue south from there through Megher and Astoria to Cannon Beach.

Oh, so you're the one always holding up traffic.

Yeah, that is a great area. Been there several times too.

Well...Skamokawa was a real drag. The town has emptied out and there are "For Sale" signs on all the buildings. I did not get down to Cannon Beach, but did go up to Oysterville. I had a good day and even got a few good photos. I also drove past the location of your Astoria bridge photo (pier stubs near Megler). I was sort of tickled that Lewis and Clark named the location "Dismal Nitch"

Wonderful image Nightfly! What equatorial mount are you using? Looks like it is tracking very nicely.

That's too bad about Skamokawa. Did you drive past that abandon ship just before Megler? I'm planning on another trip to Cannon beach again and may stop by that ship for maybe another shot. I've picked all the low hanging fruit for photos around there. It is getting harder to find new and interesting shots. The thing that would help would be unique weather conditions to go with shots done before.

I know the ship you are talking about and don't remember seeing it on this trip. I was driving eastbound and paying attention to the curves in the road so I might have missed it.

Oh man I've been to Tofino. I went there with some friends right after I graduated in 2004. We drove from Victoria. It was amazing. I have been dreaming of returning ever since.
