I've been shooting my Pentax 645 for over a year now, so i decided to buy me a scanner. Unfortunatly being on a tight budget I bought not my first choice, the epson v700, but the cheaper v500. I'm very happy with the results so far. So I would like to share them with you guys.

In my enthousiasm I didn't bother the dust on the negatives. I will soon try some other scanning software. These photo's were all scanned using the epson scanning software, I might upgrade to vuescan or silverfast soon. PP is done in PSE9.

My b/w images will be scanned from darkroom prints, but I've been busy lately so I'll post them soon.

Ha, those mules (donkeys?) is a great shot. You should get by fine with that v500.

Thanks. Yeah, I was out shooting with him and asked him to stand there. I took one with and without him. I liked the shot with him in it. You can't tell but he is also sporting a Pentax 6x7 that you can see sticking out from his waist.

I did notice the object sticking out from his waist - the 67 looks quite small from that distance

I hate to be picky, as your shots are normally technically flawless; but I can see what looks like a newton ring or other strange artifact at the top of the lighthouse. Right near the ball shaped extension above the glass.

I do love the tones and contrast of these last 2 lighthouse shots.

Yep, good eye, that's what it is. It didn't show up until after the scan. I tried to clean it up but, oh well. I have the negative pressed between two books now if I decide to rescan it again when it flattens out. And there was another one in the grass.

That Medalist looks to perform quite well. It is too bad that you'll have to respool film every time you want to use it.

Yes, the old-timer still has some life left and can deliver. I really like the 6x9 format.
