Pentax 67II, 55-100 Zoom, Kodak TMAX 400

It looks a little dark in my Browser (Opera, Mac), have no idea why. It is lighter.

What is the gamma set to on your Mac? Prior to OSX 10.6, the default on a Mac was gamma 1.8 and the web color space is sRGB with gamma 2.2. Don't know if Opera is color managed or not.

Wow, I'm really impressed by the work shown here, keep 'em coming! Here are a few recent scans. All shots were taken in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

This man painstakingly builds his model airplanes from scratch. He says it takes him all winter whereas most build from kits today in short order, he says. I gave another attempt on getting the color right with this shot. But I give up.

That is some pretty impressive "near/far", especially with the longer lens! Was this 6x7?

It's 4x5. I titled the front standard to get both the plane and his face in focus more or less. IIRC it was shot at f9.

Does anyone want to contribute a new thread on the subject for the PP forum?
Took longer than expected, but I've just posted part 1 of 3.

I'm starting to suspect the Yashinon on the Mat is actually a little bit sharp

Yashica Mat 124G, Neopan 100, D-76 1:1, Epson 4490

That's the Goldman Sachs building in Jersey City, across the river from Manhattan.

Wow, that's sharp...

About scanning: is 1200dpi a good resolution for most images? Because most of the time I scan at 2400dpi, but when I look at this cropped picture I can't see why I should scan at that specific resolution.
May I ask what software you used?

Thanks - with the Epson 4490 I use Epson software, 1200 dpi for 120 and about half the time 2400 dpi with 135. Then I adjust in Elements - just got 9 - and do some sharpening - in this case I duped the layer, added 1 pix of 'lens blur' sharpening, and blended that in at around 20 - and I always finish off at .2pix 180% and the pixel threshold set high enough to avoid over emphasizing the grain. 22 pixels in this case, non critical.

Thanks for your reply. I use a v500 from Epson, and their scanninf software as well. A few days ago I downloaded trialversions of Silverfast and Vuescan. These interfaces really need some attention to get used to.
PP is done in PSE8, mostly colorcorrections and sharpening. But i'm still learning...

For B&W I still prefer darkroomprints, I'll see if I can find some examples to share.

About the scanner: 8 or 16 bit for BW negative (I use ED 9000 Nikon)?
