Rescan to convert it over. The Astoria Column in Oregon is patterned after the Trajan's Column in Rome, Italy.

Pentax 6x7, 45mm, Pentax O2 Orange Filter, 320TXP, PMK Pyro

This is a nice shot both for the composition, the feeling of 'grandeur" and the technical aspect with such nice control of the highlight.
Many us can learn from this.

Cheers,

Luc

Thanks, Luc. How long were you in France? Look forward to seeing more.

Color is fine. I was just curious if scanning was offered for that film.

I've never been to Rome unfortunately. I'll have to add that to my bucket list.
Fair enough. I am fairly sure that the lab I used will scan most things, however I think slide is rather expensive compared to negatives. Will need to check it out. Just for curiosity, it was 12.95 for development only. B&W is the same cost, but CN is only 5.70 a roll.

We were a little bit over two weeks, mostly visiting family but I had two days shooting in the mountains (mostly P645) and two days city shooting in Spain (LX/645 50/50).

Cheers,

Luc

More P67II with 105/2.4 wide open...

I hope the weather gets nicer soon, so I can begin shooting the stack of (slow) color film I have in the freezer.

Luc,
I have enjoyed seeing your trip to France so far, and look forward to seeing more as you process them. I really like the window shot, and the others are nice too.

Backlight?

Tuco,

Regarding your Astoria Column image: how in the world did you manage to keep the shadow detail with such a strong backlight? Impressive capture!

Postscript: Thank you for the links to the .pdfs in your earlier post. They're very helpful...

Hey thanks a lot. So when are you going to give this 67 the nice B&W film that it deserves - chrome in B&W beats any color shots

Cheers,

Luc

For wide open, there looks like more DOF than I'd expect. Spring is just around the corner.

Thanks. I meter with a one-degree Pentax Spotmeter V, place the column's shadow just below middle gray, add 1/2 stop of extra exposure, under develop the film and rely on PMK for the rest. This was a handheld shot too.

Bonjour Luc,
I have been feeding the 67 a fair bit of B&W; the problem is that it's been extremely hot over here so I have been hesitant to develop it. Think 30C+ water temps.
Tuco helped out by suggesting I get some Diafine, but I am yet to do so. Hence you see more colour from me, as I simply pay someone to develop it!
The last roll of B&W I did got a bit screwed up by getting stuck in the patterson tank plastic reel - my hands get very sweaty in the changing bag. So I might add some steel reels to my 'birthday list'. To much information perhaps

But for now, here is a B&W for you. Hope I haven't posted it before.

Pentax 67, SMC 105/2.4, Tri-X @ EI400

And while I'm at it, a back lit shot from Christmas.

That is what I am talking about, baby. I just love the chrome on B&W...
I understand your dilemma if you have only one fridge cold beer or cold developer...
I also read that Diafine was pretty much temperature resistant. I use Diafine for all my TriX@1250 shots and I really like it both in grain and tonality. I have not tried it with other films.

Cheers,

Luc
