Another fine BW portrait. I see you're having some fun with it. I just picked up some new strobe gear. Two new soft boxes and radio control of my strobes. I can now adjust each strobe with a master control. I want to try this Portra 400 with strobes and people to see how the skin looks. It looks fine grain enough but no volunteers.

A Crop With Same Export Settings As The Image

I saw the picture and instantly wanted to see a crop... Then I scrolled down and there it was. Thanks for that! I tried to do some quick math to figure it out, but is that roughly 1200SPI on the crop? Seems very fine grained!

In Lightroom I just cropped the imported image to the size you see. The imaged was scanned at 4000DPI with a size reduction of 2 (averaging 2000DPI and 4000DPI). The scanning software says DPI but I suppose it really is SPI?

645D Testing using the 55-100mm zoom.

The color image is an exposure blend and the B&W is a test shot for resolution and detail.

I think that she really likes to be on the forum

Nice shots on both counts if for different reasons.

Yeah, the second crop I thought looked like 2000. I was just interested in figuring out how small the grain is.

SPI, DPI, PPI all seem to be used interchangeably. I like to use Samples Per Inch for scanning, Pixels Per Inch(300, 360, etc.) for for digital files being sent to print and Dots Per Inch for printing/printers (1440, 2880, etc.). Doesn't really make much difference, it's just a habit.

That's crazy. I assume the houses have no need for a back door! I envy your travels. I hope to get a chance to visit these places someday too.

Great shots with a great camera. I'm seriously wanting those Rolleinars, but they're so expensive in bay III.
