It is...in the summer. Winter is about the same. (I have lived in both cities.) It snowed this morning with hard cold rain the rest of the day and into the evening. In the mountains, they have been getting about 2 feet a day of new snow since Sunday. March definitely has arrived as a lion.

Saturday/Sunday we got 10cm of snow in our backyard . Monday rain and slush

Sounds like Indiana! One week single digits, the next low 60s(f).

That selective focus in this shot has a really interesting feel on the larger size.

This Fomapan film seems really good actually!

#1 and #3 is with the 105/2.4 at f/4 and f/8, while the middle one is with the 75/4.5 wide open.

Thanks! Yes, Fomapan 400 exposed at 320 (brightest snow at zone ~VII-VIII), developed in Fomadon R09 1:50 for 11 minutes with agitation once every minute. Contrast on the negatives is quite much higher than with Ilford HP5+ and Kodak Tri-X, probably because the native speed of Fomapan is much lower than 400.

the portra is C41 so as long as they do 120 (not all do) no problem
it's also available in 35mm so any mini lab can do it

A grand day out.
I couldn't find a really interesting foreground so I choose the pebbles
This is on an island. Beautiful calm sea....

Another one that doesn't make it to my portfolio....

After sunset on an early September evening on a small Island (among hundreds!)...
Nice beach. Nice place for camping...

[why does the images get softer when I upload them?]
