This one shows what I like about Ektar. Color saturation is one thing, but the ability to handle subtle shades is quite another.

Great photo too!!

Am now free for a few days and have a couple of days at beautiful jeju island off the south coast of Korea (South). had a good day today after a spendidly fresh seafood meal. Even a bit of wildlufe....

Saw this spider and used single point autofocus cropped in two different sizes:

Pentax 645D FA 75 1/200 f/2.8 ISO 500

Some more scenic views now taken not far from the spider.

Mount Hallasan is South Korea's highest mountain at over 6,200 feet.

A few man made items

The Pentax 645 FA 33-55mm f/4.5 tends to be my landscape workhorse. here it is waiting for action!

Pentax 645D Pentax 645 A 200 f/4 at f/5.6 and 1/160 ISO 400

My hotel has displays of many concept cars including an advanced prototype Gemini electric car made by Hyundai. A pity about the guard rail as I could have really filled the frame without it

Nice, Luc. I like the contrast of the first one, reminds me of being in a forest
And the second looks really clean. Nice work in Diafine, I really need to try it out sometime.

Insects and light in Korea

Today we took a trip to U-do island (U-do is the korean word for cow, and the isaland has this name as it is shaped like cow), and had a lovely sunny day walking up the main hill on the island. I've never really considered macro photography before, but find myself considering the Pentax 645 FA 120 macro lens which I have heard really god things of. Yesterday it was the spider, today the 'praying' mantis's turn for the spotlight:

Pentax 645D Pentax FA 645 75mm @ f/2.8 and 1/160 ISO 100

The mantis then turned to me as if to say "What are YOU looking at?!"

Pentax 645D FA 75 @ f/2.8 and 1/100 ISO 100

Round the corner was Korea's most important lighthouse

Pentax 645D FA 645 33-55mm @33mm f/16 1/100 ISO 100

This sweet little girl was sat in front of us on the boat from a ride on a submarine that allows you to see fish below the surface. The children were given starfish at the end of the trip and her dad had been teasing her about the starfish and she was feeling sad because she thought that the starfish was sick. Myself and a colleague were sat behind with a korean colleague and we had a friendly exchange with her parents who were comfortable with me taking her photo.

Pentax 645D FA 33-55mm @ 48mm, f/8 ISO 640

I think I prefer the colour but here is a black and white version. Selective colour may work

Nice shot! The street lamp lights against the dark, dreary sky really sets the mood as well as the grain augmenting a fog-like feel for the weather conditions.
