Caesar rarely does as he is told and wouldn't sit still in a studio. He's incorrigible. You have to catch him while he is distracted like here:

This is about 20 hours into labor. After roughly 24 hours the midwives transferred us to the hospital. My wife tried an additional 8 hours but progress was slow. The end result was a c-section but mom and child did great!

I think that if while my wife was going through labour (no children yet) and I was stood there taking photos I had would have a large bruise on my head where the camera had hit me asa result! Having said that, it's well lit and you've really captured the moment. Congratulations on the new arrival

Having a distract subject is good to prevent injury, although it may result in cold mac & cheese dinners for a month.

lol. I picked my moments carefully when shooting during the labor. My wife is my assistant so she is used to me always having the camera around. I got the evil eye once and learned from that

You blow me away with your skill and technique when you post your pictures from you 645 lenses in the "post your medium format pictures" thread in here. However, it is difficult for people to find image samples from specific lenses. After seeking Adam's permission I have started threads with some of the 645 lenses:

Decided to try and get on to Caesar's level. Lying on the floor is to Caesar an invitation either to play or a facial bath. He has been known to lick the front element of the lens. On this occasion I waited for him to get used to me lying on the floor before taking the shots.

The other day he did a reasonable impression of a lion. This time he is doing an impression of a sphinx:

Pentax 645D FA 45 - 85 at f/5.6 and 75mm, ISO 800 1/60

He looks incredibly sad, but that's because concrete is being laid on our patio and we don't want him running in it so he wasn't allowed to run around in the garden.

I climbed Mynydd Dinas again, this time climbing higher on the Western side to see if I could get a good sunset photograph, and stayed later until it was darker back at the other side of the mountain.

Here's the sunset:

Rangefinder Forum had a discussion on NCPS "enhanced" scanning. I made the following posts, which may be of interest here.

The NCPS "enhanced" scan resolves grain on 135 velvia 100.

I've had quite nice scans from NCPS on Velvia when the exposure was on and the light was good. I've had poor scans when the light and exposure were challenging. In the latter case, I sent out for drum scans with an experienced, independent photographer ($30 for 645), who extracted great color and dynamic range. He also corrected some magenta cast, which he thought came from over-used developer. NCPS supplies 8-bit jpgs, which don't allow you much latitude for exposure, fill and recovery in ACR.

Here's an example where the drum scan was necessary, and the NCPS "enhanced" scan couldn't capture the dynamic range. From my "Landscape, Nature, Weather" gallery at PhotoKinesis.info (2-shot pano from Velvia 100 on Pentax 645N at 35mm; I'm not completely happy with my final image, but do me a favor and view it a good monitor!):

Back in the Lakes again, having stopped off on the way up to look in on Focus on Imaging in Birmingham, and today (well yesterday) has been a blustery sometimes squally day, but with some sun too. I walked through several hail storms and my camera spent much of its time in and out of my pack. It's been a day of contrasts as these shots will attest to:

Pentax 645D FA 45 - 85mm f/4.5 at 45mm and f/16 with cokin Soft Grad ND8 0.3 secs

I always find this tree an interesting subject

Pentax 645D FA 45 - 85 at 75mm f/22 0.4 secs

After yet another hail storm, the sun started to set with very dramatic result in the clouds above:

Pentax 645D FA 45 - 85 at f/22 and 2 secs again with Cokin ND 8 soft grad

I turned around with my camera and saw a macabre sight. There was a sheep with it's neck seemingly broken and it was draped around a tree by the side of the River Brathay.

On my calibrated screen, it still has a very purple hue to it and appears pretty dark.
