First home developed shots!

I got very good guidance from a friend and a chance to use his chemicals. It was easier than I thought!

lovely first shot. You didn't use flash, right? How come that the rest of the arm on the left side is blurred?

Thanks for the comments guys!

Actually I did use a flash on the first shot, just forgot to mention it. I used a Cactus v4 trigger to shoot a flash off the camera with one small shoot-through umbrella above the hand in the picture.

Both were shot wide open at f4, and because of the very narrow DOF, the outer part of te hand is out of focus.

Excellent first results. Developing BW is not difficult at all, really. Keep good exposure notes of selected shots and you can tweak development times by trial and error too to fit more difficult light situations as time goes on.

Yes, I´m very happy with the results. Although I have to admit that I was a bit nervous when I was trying to get the film into the spool of the developing tank in complete darkness.

I have only shot three rolls through the Bronica, but I´m already starting to get used to it. I should still get a decent light meter though, these shots were metered with my K200D...
Can anyone give any recommendations of a good meter? Should I get two meters for flash and landscape work, or is there a meter that can work in both environments?

Wow! What an inspiration this forum has been. I had a local photographer locate a Pentax 645 for me just as digital was coming to the fore. All of a sudden in the past couple of weeks I decided I needed to either sell it or use. I put 5-rolls of film through it (outdated of course) and now anticipate what will be returned from the finisher. Then, I started looking at the shots here and am even more excited to use film again. Had to laugh the other day as I was in a public park which has a mildly spectacular waterfall. Some hikers came by and asked, "Getting some good shots?" My response, "I don'[t know this is a film camera with no instant replay like digital." My memory from the last time of using the camera (almost 8-years ago) is that yes, there will be some very good shots. Thanks again to all the posters and their inspiration.

Taken on a recent road trip to WA, using the 55mm Digital lens. Single image, detail in that distance is quite stunning, nice large print coming up
